Cristiano Ronaldo linked with January transfer to Turkish giants Galatasaray in move that would see

Cristiano Ronaldo could be offered a Manchester United escape route, with Turkish giants Galatasaray keen on his services, it has been reported.

The 37-year-old was heavily linked with the Old Trafford exit door in the summer, but remained with the Red Devils.

With boss Erik ten Hag using him sparingly, Ronaldo is understood to be 'p***** off' with being bit-part player this campaign.

His only Premier League start came in the 4-0 thrashing away to Brentford in August, and he was an unused substitute as United suffered a 6-3 defeat to Manchester City on Sunday.

According to Turkish publication Fotomac, Galatasaray are set to go 'all out' in an attempt to try and lure the Portuguese star away from Old Trafford in January.

The report states club chief Erden Timur has been in constant contact with Ronaldo's representatives over a potential swoop for the £360,000-a-week earner.

Okan Burak's Galatasaray are currently 4th in the Turkish Super Lig, and finished in 13th place last season following a lacklustre campaign.

It means the club are not able to offer Ronaldo any European football this season, let alone Champions League football.

Should Ronaldo make the move to the Turkish capital, it would see him link up with former Man United teammate Juan Mata.

Galatasaray also have ex-Premier League stars Lucas Torreira and Patrick van Aanholt in their ranks.

Former Paris Saint-Germain striker Mauro Icardi, is another to have made the switch to the Nef Stadium in recent times.

It certainly would be a major coup should they get hold of Ronaldo, but they do face a fight with other interested parties, including Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal, for his signature.
