Liga MX: Keylor Navas could be set for move to Mexico

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas could be set to move to Club America in the Mexican league so that he can replace Guillermo Ochoa.

Ochoa recently signed for Serie A side Salernitana and went straight into the team for their match against AC Milan, which means Club America need a replacement.

According to Fox Sports Mexico, Costa Rican Navas is the man that they have set their eyes on. The 36-year-old has been a top goalkeeper in Europe for many years, even whilst not always being number one at his teams.

His contract with PSG runs until 2024 which means that the Liga MX side will need to fork out a transfer fee if they're going to take him away from the Ligue 1 side.

Navas was pushed into the number two spot when Gianluigi Donnarumma arrived at PSG and it has been a point of friction between him and the club, meaning that there could certainly be some interest from him in the move.

Despite the reports, the director of the club, Hector Gonzalez Inarritu said that he has no knowledge of such a deal being on the cards.

"I am on vacation with my family, I am very grateful for the call, but so far there is nothing. The truth is that I am unaware of the information, it is the first time I have heard of it," he said.

For his part, Fernando Ortiz, America's coach, added: "Oscar Jimenez and Luis Malagon are competing, they deserve a chance. We are going to play a preseason game and surely that will decide the starting goalkeeper".

The operation will not be simple, as Navas' main desire is to continue in Europe.
